Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings & Fincantieri Finalize Massive New Ship Order
by Dori Saltzman
Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings and Fincantieri have finalized a deal for four of the eight-newbuilds first announced in April 2024.
The project is valued at around 9 billion euros, according to Reuters
The order will see four ships added to the Norwegian Cruise Line fleet with the first scheduled for delivery in 2030. The others will be delivered in 2032, 2034, and 2036. Each will be able to accommodate more than 8,000 people, including guests (5,100) and crew, making them the largest ships in the NCL fleet.
According to The Maritime Executive, the size of these ships – as announced this week – is 20% larger than originally announced.
The four ships are part of a larger order that also saw two ships ordered for Oceania Cruises and two for Regent Seven Seas Cruises.
