Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Cancels Voyages through February

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, which includes Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania cruises, and Regent Seven Seas, announced on Wednesday that it would be extending the suspension of its voyages through February as the company continues to work to meet Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) requirements.

In a statement on Wednesday, Norwegian said that the move was made to allow it to continue “to work through its return to service plan to meet requirements of the Framework for the Conditional Sailing Order issued by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.”

The CDC framework, which can be found in full here, states that cruise lines can now pursue “a phased resumption of cruise ship passenger operations” with “a careful approach.”

“The Company will continue to work in tandem with global government and public health authorities and its Healthy Sail Panel expert advisors to take all necessary measures to protect its guests, crew, and the communities visited.”

Currently, NCLH’s suspension includes all sailings on NCL through February, along with some select March sailings, along with all sailings on Oceania and Regent through March 31.

NCL, for its part, recently launched its return to mass marketing after pausing all marketing in March. The campaign, which encourages consumers to “revive their destination dreams” with a new campaign inspired by the band Queen called “Break Free,” is live across print, digital, radio, and TV.
