AmaWaterways Releases 2017 Fam Schedule

by Daniel McCarthy  February 07, 2017

AmaWaterways is giving travel agents a chance to get onboard one of its river cruise ships with a number of different fam itineraries for 2017. For those who make the most of the trip—and go on to book 20 guests within two years—the entire cost of their cruise will be refunded.

The options include sailings on the Danube and Mekong rivers, along with the cruise line’s Tulip Time itineraries and six wine-themed cruises in France. Some of the included trips are:

  • Seven-night Paris & Normandy – March 23, 30; April 27; May 4, 11, 18 and 25.
  • Seven-night Provence & Spain – March 23; April 20; and May 4.
  • Seven-night Romantic Danube or Melodies of the Danube – March 22, 29; and April 17.
  • Tulip Time – March 23, 30; and April 3.
  • Vietnam, Cambodia & the Riches of the Mekong – April 10, 17, 24; August 7, 14, 21 and 28.

Each fam starts at $630 per person; stateroom upgrades are available for 50% off brochure rates.

“We hope to make it even more convenient and accessible for agents to cruise with us, as we understand the importance of a first-hand experience,” executive vice president and co-owner Kristin Karst said. “We pride ourselves on the sales, marketing and educational support we continue to offer our travel agent partners.”

Besides fam trips, which can be booked on the travel agent portal, agents can get onboard an AmaWaterways vessel for a ship inspection. All agents that complete a ship inspection will be rewarded with an inspection certificate and a $50 bonus commission on their next booking.

AmaWaterways currently sails the Danube, Rhine, Douro, Seine and Garonne Rivers, as well as the Chobe River in Africa, the Mekong in Southeast Asia, and the Irawaddy in Myanmar. In total for 2017, it will offer 15 itineraries.

The river cruise line is also ramping up its sailings in partnership with Adventures by Disney; it will sail 16 of those itineraries in 2017, more than double from the 7 on which they partnered last year.
