When Virgin Voyages’ newest ship, Brilliant Lady, debuts in New York this September, it will do so with seven brand-new, original productions spread across the ship.
Virgin today revealed the entertainment lineup for the ship, which will also include some of its signature offerings from other ships, including Scarlet Night Red Room Glow Up, which will move inside, and Duel Reality, a modern take on Romeo and Juliet that debuted in Boston last year.
The new shows will be split between the ship’s Red Room and The Manor. Here’s what’s set for the Red Room, a multi-form, transformational performance venue that hosts both traditional shows and some guest parties:
Red Hot — A high-energy jukebox musical tracing the history of the Virgin corporation, which includes the Sex Pistols, Spice Girls, Paula Abdul, Culture Club, and more. Virgin says the show will feature “archival clips, and inspired by the rebellious spirit of Sir Richard Branson, there is something for everyone with this jukebox.”
Out of Time — A time-travel comedy that Virgin created in partnership with No Ceilings, a Las Vegas-based production house. Like most time-travel stories, things don’t go according to plan, and the road back includes “a cavalcade of music, fashion, dazzling flappers, and a few acrobatic cavemen.”
Here’s what’s set for The Manor, the ship’s two-story nightclub:
Disco Reimagined — Virgin’s take on a classic disco party in Studio 72 that Virgin is calling “a 90-minute explosion of sequins, flared pants, and acrobatics so good Sailors will gasp.”
Up with a Twist — Another in Virgin’s Supper Club series, this production combines dining and some high-concept characters, with a live band that plays “vintage numbers from yesteryear and summer soundtrack favorites.”
Murder in the Manor — An immersive theater performance, also brought to life through that No Ceilings partnership, where guests take part in a murder-mystery-style performance, helping “a plain-Jane” find out who killed her rockstar twin sister.
Duets — Another jukebox musical with duets spanning generations and genres, performed with jazz-infused arrangements.
Electric — A fully immersive “electric dance party” that includes neon face paint and a jellyfish parade.
The 2,762-passenger Brilliant Lady will debut in September, and will enter service as the fourth ship in Virgin’s growing fleet. The ship will also be the very first Virgin ship to sail to Alaska when it heads to Seattle in summer 2026.
