Universal theme parks in Florida and California have suspended operations through May 31.
Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood have suspended operations at least through May 31 due to the ongoing threat of COVID-19. That includes all Universal Orlando Resort hotels and Universal CityWalk at both destinations.
For agents with reservations for their clients due to arrive through May 31, Travel Industry Sales representatives will call to discuss clients’ reservation options. Universal’s refund policies will remain in place during this time.
Universal Parks & Resorts Vacations (UPRV), the Official Travel Company of Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood, has modified its commission protection for all vacation package bookings for Hollywood and Orlando booked through UPRV.
Vacation packages with a deposit or final payment made on or prior to April 8 are applicable for commission protection. The protection applies for package bookings cancelled starting on April 9 that would have traveled between April 20 and May 31. Commission protection is not valid on ticket-only, hotel-only or group bookings of 10 or more rooms.
Universal Parks & Resorts said beginning April 20, nearly all team members will be paid at 80 percent of their pay. Part-time hourly workers will be furloughed beginning May 3. Those who participate in a benefits plan will continue to be enrolled in their plan.
