Study Finds Best Time To Book A Hotel
by Jessica MontevagoMany studies have looked into the best time to book a flight—but what about a hotel?
Using booking data from April 2014 to February 2016, TripAdvisor found that the definition of “the best time” differs from destination to destination.
Savings of about 7% can be had in the United States, where prices tend to be fairly stable, by booking two months out. But book four months in advance for 7% off peak rates in the Caribbean.
Europe takes more planning still, but offers better rewards. Booking three to five months before the summer season—as in, right now—can save as much as 23%.
Asian hotel rates increase slightly three to five weeks out, so book within three months of a summer trip. That can save upwards of 23% compared to peak pricing.
