14 Hotels and Resorts Offering Leap Day Deals

It’s that year, when we all get an extra day. Those born on February 29, aka leaplings, are feted with goodies and gifts from restaurants and retailers on their special day. Hotels and restaurants also celebrate—but not just on the 29th and not just for the birthday gal and guy, but for all guests.

Here are some hotel, resort, and inn specials for Leap Year 2024.

The Eliza Jane Hotel, New Orleans
The deal: The Leap Year Lagniappe Package (“lagniappe” is a Cajun-French-inspired word that means “a little extra”). Located just a leap from the French Quarter, The Eliza Jane has had former lives as the Peychaud Cocktail Bitters factory and The Daily Picayune (the name comes from Eliza Jane Nicholson, the paper’s first female publisher.) The package is available the entire month of February through December 31 and includes accommodations, two frog lemonade cocktails, and a daily $29 dining credit. Fact: The frog lemonade cocktail is available exclusively during the leap year celebration and was inspired by The Daily Picayune’s weather frog. During her tenure at the paper, Eliza Jane introduced the weather frog in the late 1800s, which depicted the daily forecast—carrying an umbrella if it called for rain or enjoying the sun on an anticipated clear day—and the frog is still on the paper daily today.

Cielo Lodge, Golfito, Costa Rica
The deal: This canopy treetop suites eco-lodge on a private rainforest reserve is offering 50 percent off on February 29 when booking a four-night stay that includes that night—a high-season savings of $508.

Wequassett Resort and Golf Club, Harwich, Massachusetts
The deal: Wequassett’s Leap into Luxury Year deal—$229 for any Thursday in February and $50 resort credit. Guests born on a Leap Day receive a special invitation to experience Thursday nights throughout February for $29 per night. Also, Dinner Worth Waiting Four Years For—hosted in collaboration with Stags’ Leap Winery and Wequassett’s Executive Chef James Hackney. Deets: A minimum two-night stay is required, with the second night at the published rate. Leap Year birthday rate adjustment is available at check-in.

Topnotch Resort, Stowe, Vermont
The deal: Get 29 percent off when booking four nights or more at this year-round mountain resort. The offer expires at midnight on February 29. Travel dates February 25 to December 24, 2024 (some blackout dates).

Snowvillage Inn, Snowville, New Hampshire
The deal: The Leapling package includes a free overnight stay on February 29th, with the purchase of dinner at the Snowvillage Inn for those born on Leap Day (must produce license with date of birth.)

Divi Resorts
The deal: Leap Year Extravaganza—Exclusive One-Day Offer. Tiered discounts of up to 40 percent when booking Fall 2024 stays. Choose between a 35 percent discount (one to five nights) or an extended escape (six-plus nights) for 40 percent off at resorts on Aruba, Barbados, Bonaire, St. Croix, and St. Maarten. One day only, book February 29 for travel from September 1 to November 15, 2024.

New England Inns and Resorts
The deal: This collection of 300-plus inns and resorts in the six New England states has a Leap Year gift card promo—buy now through March 11 and get a $20 gift card for every $100 purchased (use code LEAP). The cards are redeemable at any of the properties from Brunswick, Maine’s The Federal to Madison, Connecticut’s Madison Beach Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton, and the Homestead Bed and Breakfast.

Tom Quick Inn, Milford, Pennsylvania
The deal: Leap Year Special on February 29th includes complimentary breakfast, guided city tour, and 29% discount on room rates for February 29th; also, an additional incentive for travel advisors—reserve four lodgings and the fifth room is complimentary.

Cloudland at Mclemore Resort, Rising Fawn, Georgia
The deal: The marquee Curio Collection by Hilton resort on Lookout Mountain (30 minutes from Chattanooga) has announced Leap Day this year as its official opening date. Hilton Honors Rewards members receive 2x points each night of their trip with the 2x points package and up to 17 percent off the best available rates when booked at least seven days in advance.

Islamorada Resort Collection, Florida Keys
The deal: Leap Year Flash Sale at this collection of resorts in the Florida Keys, at either resort—Amara Cay Resort or La Siesta Resort & Villas. Book two nights and receive the third night free, plus a $100 dining credit to enjoy at any of our bars and restaurants.
