Olympia Luxury Property Portfolio Expands on Both Sides of the Hudson
by Maria Lisella
Known for its upscale luxury properties, such as Inn by the Sea in Maine and The Alfond Inn at Rollins in Winter Park, Florida, The Olympia Companies’ 2018 portfolio will soon total 22 properties.
The SOPHY Hyde Park, a new 98-room luxury boutique hotel currently under construction in Chicago’s Hyde Park neighborhood, was designed as a four-diamond property it is scheduled to open in summer 2018. The Olympia Companies partners with SMART Hotels to develop and manage this property.
The newest iteration of the classic New England hotel (four Glen Houses have been built in the scenic locale since 1852), The Glen House, near the base of the Mt. Washington Auto Road in New Hampshire, will open in the summer of 2018 operated by Olympia.
Opening in 2018 is a hotel project in the Quad Cities region of northwest Illinois and southeastern Iowa that will feature two hotels: a 134-room Hyatt Place hotel and 99-room Hyatt House hotel.
Other developments include: a new 42-room boutique hotel and restaurant in downtown Waterville, Maine; Olympia will manage The Williams Inn in Williamstown, Massachusetts, which is owned by Williams College to open in 2019; and Hilton Garden Inn, close to Yale University in downtown New Haven, is in the early planning stage.
