Reed Exhibitions Restructures ILTM Trade Shows, Adds LGBT Event
by Doug GollanReed Exhibitions is rebranding ILTM (International Luxury Travel Market) Americas as ILTM North America. The trade show, which brings together travel agents from the U.S., Canada and Mexico and luxury suppliers for pre-arranged meetings, will continue to be held at the Mayakoba resort in Riviera Maya in September.
Separately, Reed is launching a B2B event targeting the LGBT market next June in London branded Proud Experiences. It will feature a mix of education and one-to-one meetings.
Next year, ILTM will move its Asia show to Singapore with a pan-pacific focus, and for the first time will invite travel agents from outside of the region that are focused on selling travel to Pacific Asia. The current venue in Shanghai will now be dedicated strictly to the Chinese domestic and outbound market.
Under the restructuring, Travelweek São Paulo becomes ILTM South America and Reed plans to grow ILTM Arabia, which it launched this year as a show within a show during the Arabian Travel Market.
Alison Gilmore, executive director of the events said luxury travel is “booming” and is continue to grow significantly. She said internal research shows a future growth area for luxury travel is family travel. She said its main event, ILTM Cannes which celebrates its 16th anniversary this year, is sold out.
