After Sabre terminated its agreement with the Lufthansa Group of airlines in May, the two announced on Wednesday that they have entered into a new agreement to include all the Lufthansa Group of airlines within Sabre.

Sabre and Lufthansa, which includes Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa, SWISS, Air Dolomiti, and Brussels Airlines, revealed the agreement on Wednesday, with Sabre also announcing that it had secured access to Lufthansa Group’s NDC content, along with its traditional content.

Sabre will begin progressively rolling out Lufthansa’s NDC content in an integrated solution starting with select markets in 2021. Agencies will then be able to opt-in to access the content.

“Sabre is committed to finding flexible, sustainable solutions that address traveler expectations, deliver against airlines’ strategic, ensure scalability, and safeguard efficient agency workflows,” Sabre president Dave Shirk said in a statement announcing the news.

“I’m proud that we have signed a sustainable agreement with our partners at Lufthansa Group and one that provides both companies a new level of flexibility to drive a new generation of retailing.”

Sabre originally made the announcement that it was terminating its agreement with Lufthansa Group in May, explaining that it had chosen to end the relationship, effective June 30, as Lufthansa continued to hold talks with governments about state aid to help the airline survive the COVID-19 crisis.
