Six months out from the ship’s official debut, MSC Cruises today shared the first look at its new ship, MSC Seashore.
The ship, a sister ship to MSC Seaside, will debut in the Mediterranean before arriving in Miami on Nov. 17, 2021. MSC is calling the ship “one of the line’s most innovative next-generation ships yet,” with some first-to-market features and over 139,000 square feet of outdoor space.
It’s expected to give guests the experience of “an enhanced and enlarged version” of MSC Seaside, MSC Cruises USA president Ruben Rodriguez said.
“We couldn’t be more excited to introduce our U.S. guests to this new cruising experience. Featuring generous outdoor spaces, new and redesigned venues and our largest MSC Yacht Club to date, MSC Seashore is already driving significant demand. And, we expect to see even more pick up in the coming weeks as even more guest start to plan their 201 holiday and 2022 vacations,” he said.
Outdoor and pool space
As part of that massive amount of outdoor space, MSC Seashore will “connect guests with the sea,” the line said.
That effort comes to fruition with a new glass-floored Bridge of Signs on deck 16 that hangs more than 70 feet above the infinity pool on deck 8. That infinity pool, one of the largest ones ever at sea, extends right up to the end of the ship and includes sunbeds sunken in the water.
There will also be two new infinity whirlpools on each side of the outdoor promenade on deck 8. Each pool includes 20 seats directed out on the sea.
The ship’s main pool, the Long Island Pool, features two different depths, one for standing and one for swimming, along with a 360-degree water fountain island in the center, and a new connection to the children’s Pirate Cove-themed waterpark.
That’s in addition to the ship’s Jungle Pool, which sits under a magrodome that can be closed if needed.
Food offerings
For food and drink, MSC Seashore continues the line’s tradition of pushing its focus on culinary offerings. For this ship, MSC is now making an effort to let guests to eat and drink “closer to the sea” with new outdoor café areas and some new brand-new offerings for the cruise line.
The ship’s Chef’s Court, which houses five specialty restaurants, will now sit on deck 8. Part of that Chef’s Court is Butcher’s Cut, which, for the first time in MSC’s fleet history, will allow guests to dine outside with a new outdoor seating area.
The Sky Bar, the ship’s buffet, will also feature an outdoor area.
MSC Yacht Club
MSC’s ship within a ship area, Yacht Club, will include more than 32,000 square feet of space and four decks on MSC Seashore.
That space includes an extended pool area with a new panoramic whirlpool in addition to the standard whirlpool, along with a Top Sail Lounge and private restaurant.
In total, the Yacht Club on Seashore will feature 131 suites across five categories, including two brand new Owner’s Suites, which offer over 1,000 square feet of space along with a private balcony with a whirlpool and outdoor living area.
Initial sailings
Once Seashore debuts, MSC’s fleet will feature 19 different ships with another four expected to come by 2025.
Seashore, for its part, will offer 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean and Bahamas itineraries, including stops at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, starting in November 2021. Prior to that, it will sail an inaugural season in the Mediterranean calling at the Italian ports of Genoa, Naples, Messina as well as Valetta in Malta, Barcelona in Spain and Marseille in France.
