Delta Air Lines is again pausing flights between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport (TLV).
The airline will suspend service until at least May 20 in response to the ongoing conflict in the region, Delta said Tuesday. The airline is notifying all affected passengers and has issued a waiver for those traveling through Tel Aviv through at least May 25. The waiver allows travelers to rebook for new travel through June 15.
“Delta is continuously monitoring the evolving security environment and assessing our operations based on security guidance and intelligence reports and will communicate any updates as needed,” the airline said in a statement.
Service to Tel Aviv has been paused and resumed several times since the Oct. 7, 2023, attacks. This latest disruption comes after a Houthi attack on the airport earlier this week.
Delta is not the only carrier to suspend service; other international airlines, including ITA Airways, Air India and Air Europa, have also paused routes to Tel Aviv.
