The Trump Organization is launching a new mid-market hotel chain called “American Idea,” inspired by President’s Trump time on the campaign trail.
Donald Trump Jr. said Monday at Manhattan’s Trump Tower that he and his brother Eric — who now run the Trump Organization — “saw so many places and towns and so many stories” while traveling across the country with their father. The hotels will focus on the history and heritage of small-town America, using local artifacts.
American Idea will start with three hotels in Mississippi. The company will renovate existing hotels in Cleveland, Clarksdale and Greenville, each costing around $1.5 million, and take up to eight months to complete.
The Trump Organization’s other new brand, the four-star chain Scion, also will debut in Mississippi. The $20 million new-build hotel will be located in Cleveland. There are currently 39 Scion hotels in the works, which targets a younger demographic.
