Southwest Won’t Add Fees For Checked Bags, CEO Says

Southwest Airlines will not join the growing rank of airlines charging fees for checked bags, CEO Gary Kelly said on a conference call last week.
The airline, which Kelly said is in “a unique and beloved position in the industry with this approach,” is one of the few to allow guests two checked pieces of baggage per ticket for free.
However, Kelly said the airline may start charging travelers for other ancillary fees. Southwest already charges for early check-in and entry into its Business Select program.
