by Jessica MontevagoThe Presidential Suite is located in what was formerly the Postmaster General’s office.
Trump Hotels held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday for the grand opening of the Trump International Hotel in Washington D.C., following its soft opening in September.
Housed in the historic Old Pavilion Post Office building, the luxury hotel has a nine-story glass atrium, BLT Prime steakhouse by David Burke and the Benjamin Bar and Lounge, where guests can choose from a selection of wines, champagnes, pastries and charcuterie boards. Additional amenities will include the hotel’s 10,000-square-foot Spa by Ivanka Trump, offering personal trainers and spa attendants.
The 263 guestrooms and suites have wool carpets and wood furnishings, and 16-foot-high ceilings. The 4,000-squre-foot Presidential Suite, located in the former Postmaster General’s office, includes the original fireplaces.
Prices at the Trump hotel start at $404 per night, currently lower than other five-star properties in the nearby area. But the Ivanka Suite, a duplex in the building’s clock tower, runs $1,050 a night, while the Trump Townhouse, a sprawling 6,300-square-foot suite with its own formal dining room and exercise room, runs $2,000 per night.
