Expedition cruise company Hurtigruten is offering its guests the opportunity to book a 2021 Alaska or 2021 and 2022 Expedition Norway and Antarctica itinerary and get 50% off a second sailing, but only if they book through a travel advisor.
“We’re constantly looking for ways to support and encourage our travel advisor community through exciting new offers for their clients,” said John Downey, president of Hurtigruten Americas.
“This Buy One, Get One Half Off incentive applies to some of the most remote and desirable destinations travelers can experience in 2021 and 2022.”
The booking has to be made by Oct. 31, 2020 to get the 50% of the second sailing. It applies to the cruise portion of the bookings, including taxes, fees, and port charges.
All of the bookings eligible for the promotion are also covered by Hurtigruten’s Cruise with Confidence Policy, which allows guests to cancel for any reason in the future with a full refund – including the deposit – within 14 days of cancellation.
Hurtigruten right now is not sailing any itineraries. The line was forced to once again suspend operations because of a COVID-19 outbreak on board MS Roald Amundsen, after being one of the first vessels to return to service amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Hurtigruten is working with the Norwegian National and Local Health Authorities for follow-up, information, further testing, and infection tracking, said CEO Daniel Skjeldam.
“In light of the recent increase in new cases of COVID-19 globally, the only responsible choice is to suspend all expedition sailings until we are absolutely confident, we can carry out our operations in line with all requirements from the Authorities and with the even stricter requirements we have set for ourselves,” Skjeldam said in a statement.
