Accor Announces New Structure For Luxury Brands

by Doug Gollan  August 08, 2016

Under a new structure being implemented by Accor Hotels Luxury Group, all luxury property managers will report directly to brand managers at Accor’s Paris headquarters, said the group’s newly appointed CEO Chris Cahill.

Cahill told a gathering of travel agents and media at Virtuoso Travel Week in Las Vegas that other large hotel operators are structured regionally, with managers of their luxury properties reporting to geographic heads who oversee a multitude of brands. He believes it will give Accor an edge on delivery at its luxury properties.

With its acquisition of FRHI last month, Accor will have more than 200 luxury properties. For the time being, it will keep its training and loyalty programs for travel agents and consumers separate.

Cahill told Travel Market Report he expects to name the leaders for the various luxury brands by the fall.
