Napoleon Slept Here: Sereno Hotels Acquires Villa Pliniana
Staking a presence on Italy’s Lake Como, Sereno Hotels has acquired the 16th-century Villa Pliniana in Lake Como, Italy—a luxury property that has hosted artists, scientists, and monarchs over four centuries. Its illustrious guest list includes Leonardo da Vinci, Lord Byron, Napoleon, and Queen Margherita of Savoy.
The historic buildings have been refurbished, with the original structure preserved. The hotel will feature an 18-acre garden, 19 bedrooms, two large ballrooms that can host up to 200 guests, two meeting rooms, a dining room, a reception hall, a billiard room, and a private spa.
Sereno plans to open the property on March 1.
Just four months later and a mile away, the hotel group’s other property, Il Sereno, Lago di Como, will open in July.
