Intrepid Travel had a strong year in 2024—the best in its 35-year history.
Today, Intrepid released its 2024 Integrated Annual Report. The small group adventure specialist saw double-digit revenue growth: a 17% increase compared to 2023 ($392.6 million) and a record-breaking $26.9 million EBITDA (24% year-over-year).
“I’m exceptionally proud of our team who are delivering the best sustainable, experience-rich trips for our customers and making a positive impact for communities around the world,” said James Thornton, CEO of Intrepid Travel.
In addition to the financial gains, Intrepid had other successes in 2024: The sustainability-focused tour operator was re-certified as a B Corp in 2024 with its highest score ever (102.5 points), and its non-profit arm, The Intrepid Foundation, raised $1.5 million for grassroots partners across 39 countries.
Intrepid also saw record customer satisfaction and employee engagement in 2024.
The Australia-based company has been making moves to strengthen its position in the industry even further. Intrepid unveiled an enhanced travel advisor discount program last month, and appointed Hazel McGuire as its new chief marketing officer, effective April 1, 2025.
Looking ahead to 2025, the tour operator is expanding, launching a new U.S. sales and marketing office in Seattle and adding new country offices (DMCs) in areas such as Denmark and Amsterdam (via its acquisition of Dutch travel company Sawadee Reizen).
“In 2025, we are committed to building on this success and working closely with our industry partners to show that travel can bring people together, foster greater understanding, and create positive impact when done responsibly,” said Thornton. “What we achieved last year is once again proof that it is possible to grow both profit and purpose.”
