Hilton has reflagged two high-end hotels in California under its Waldorf Astoria and LXR Collection brands, expanding its luxury offerings.

The first, renowned Southern California Monarch Beach Resort was rebranded as Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club. The brand’s newest coastal retreat in Orange County, the property is nestled hillside along the coast and offers panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean.

With a private beach club, Monarch Bay Beach Club, resort guests and club members can enjoy ocean activities as well as a beachfront bar and coastal-inspired restaurant. The private beach club is accessible via a scenic tram ride.

All 400 guest rooms and suites feature chaise lounges, ocean-inspired artwork, and marble top armoires to complement the full marble baths. Modern patio furniture adorns the balconies off every room and suite, and first-floor patios feature fire pits.

An expansive outdoor pool area includes The Monarch Pool, The Family Pool and two infinity-edge ocean view whirlpool baths. There’s also private cabanas with built-in music, outdoor mini-bars, and outdoor fire pits, as well as an award-winning, oceanfront 18-hole golf course, designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr.

The resort boasts seven culinary options, including Michael Mina’s acclaimed restaurant Bourbon Steak Orange County, Mediterranean concept AVEO Table + Bar, and a Gastro Pub dining experience.

An all-new spa at the property will debut in spring 2021.

The recently redesigned Oceana hotel, an intimate 70-room coastal oasis situated along the coveted beach district of Santa Monica, will now be under Hilton’s collection of independent, luxury properties LXR Hotels & Resorts.

Perched on the Palisades bluff, Oceana Santa Monica, LXR Hotels & Resorts delivers panoramic vistas and is surrounded by lush greenery and blooms.

Suites are designed to feel like private a house, with deep velvet sofas and sleek suede lounges, to a four-poster bed outfitted with sumptuous Loro Piana bedding and Frette linens. Spa-inspired bathrooms boast Bottega Veneta bath amenities and personal iPads that control everything from temperature to light settings and allow guests to order room service.

The hotel’s the dining spaces showcase the resort’s signature take on seasonal Californian cuisine rooted in hyper-local ingredients from the world-famous Santa Monica Farmers Market. Sandpiper, Oceana’s main restaurant, features five-star service and elegant cuisine. At The Veranda, guests can enjoy al fresco dining or head to the rooftop lounge.

Other luxurious amenities include the resort’s main pool, situated at the heart of the property, is lined with rich olive trees and oversized daybeds, and the fitness studio equipped with state-of-the-art Peloton and Technogym equipment.

Oceana joins the growing collection of more than 10 open or soon-to-be-open LXR properties. These include the Biltmore Mayfair in London’s esteemed Grosvenor Square, Zemi Beach House on the white sands of Anguilla, Roku Kyoto along the foothills of the Takagamine Mountains in Japan, the magical Mango House Seychelles in the East Indian Ocean, Crockfords Las Vegas in the heart of the Strip, and more to be announced soon.
