The days of free parking at Florida’s Walt Disney World Resort are coming to an end.

Disney announced yesterday that, starting with reservations made on or after Mar. 21, Walt Disney World Resort will charge a fee for standard overnight self-parking for guests at all of its hotels.

Those staying at Disney Value properties, like Art of Animation or Pop Century, will pay $13; those at Moderate resorts, like Caribbean Beach or Port Orleans, will pay $19; and Deluxe Resorts and Villa guests, like those staying in the Grand Floridian or Polynesian Resorts, will pay $24.

Valet parking, available at some of its Deluxe resorts and Villas, will now cost $33 per night; and those staying at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort will still be able to park one vehicle for free on their campsite.

Disney Vacation Club members will still get complimentary overnight parking at Vacation Club Villas and at standard hotels when they pay for their stay with DVC points.

According to a spokesperson for Disney, the change will align the company and its resorts with its competition in the industry, including offsite hotels, most of which charge for overnight parking; and onsite hotels at Universal Orlando, which charges between $10 and $20 per night for self parking for guests.

California’s Disneyland Resort hotels have also been charging guests $20 per night per vehicle for self-parking and $30 per night per vehicle for valet parking.

Disney theme park parking will remain at $22 per day per car, with a $45 preferred-parking option available. Parking will also remain free at Disney’s water parks, Disney Springs, and ESPN Wide World of Sports.
