Strike To Slow Air Traffic In Germany On Wednesday
by Daniel McCarthyA work stoppage by the Germany trade union Verdi will slow air traffic across Germany on Wednesday as ground handlers, check-in and security services, and some fire brigades will be striking.
Flights in and out of Frankfurt, Munich, Dusseldorf, Cologne/Bonn, Dortmund, and Hannover are expected to be affected.
Lufthansa has already canceled nearly 900 flights on Wednesday, including all intercontinental flights from Munich and a number of domestic and European flights. It is offering a single rebooking free of charge for tickets issued up to and including April 22.
