Walt Disney World has added additional Disney After Hours dates at Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios.
Disney After Hours events allow guests to visit the park for three hours after regular park hours, which means little-to-no wait times for attractions. The ticket also allows guests early entry into the park, beginning at 7 p.m. Ice cream, popcorn and select beverages are included with admission, which is a separately-priced ticket from daytime park admission.
Here are the new dates for each park at Walt Disney World Resort:
- Magic Kingdom: May 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30.
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom: May 7, 14 and 21; and June 4, 11 and 18.
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios: May 1, 4, 10, 17, 24 and 31; and June 14, 21 and 28.
All Disney After Hours event tickets cost $125 plus tax for advance purchase and $129 plus tax for day-of purchases. Disney Vacation Club members and Annual Passholders receive a discounted price of $95 plus tax.
Walt Disney World also announced two special celebration nights at Hollywood Studios. On May 1, guests can celebrate Disney’s Hollywood Studios 30th anniversary with special anniversary merchandise, additional character greetings, and more food and beverage offerings.
On May 4, Star Wars fans can celebrate May the Fourth dressed in their best galactic Star Wars attire. There will be character greetings, including Chewbacca with REY, Darth Vader, Kylo Ren with Captain Phasma, Ewoks, Jawas, and Imperial Stormtroopers. Specialty treats will also be available.
Policy changes coming
Starting May 1, there will be some changes in policy at Disneyland and Walt Disney World.
Among the new rules, a smoking ban will go into effect across both parks. The current designated smoking areas will be removed. Smokers and vapers can go outside the park entrances.
Other rules include limiting stroller size to 31 inches by 52 inches, and no longer permitting stroller wagons, to help ease congestion.
In an effort to streamline bag check and entry processes, loose and dry ice are no longer allowed into the parks (reusable ice packs are still okay). Complimentary cups of ice are available inside the parks.
