Avalon Waterways Diversifies Themed Cruises For 2018, Rewards Early Bookers
by Maria LisellaAvalon is expanding its list of extremely popular themed itineraries – cruises that sell out year over year – including: wine, culinary, beer, jazz, art, history, music and opera vacations as well as Jewish Heritage along the Rhine, Rhone, Danube and France for 2018.
Also new for 2018 is a Tulip Time Cruise for Garden Enthusiasts. On this special April 13, 2018, departure, travelers will visit famous gardens and parks throughout Europe for inspirational horticultural art.
On all Avalon Waterways programs, agents can pass along savings to clients by taking advantage of offers such as $299 airfare or savings up to $1,500 per couple when booking early.
Hosting the Author Cruise in 2018 will be Diana Gabaldon, whose New York Times-bestselling Outlander novels ranked number-one; she is coincidentally also godmother to the Avalon Tapestry II. The 11-day Author Cruise travels to the heart of Europe to visit towns and cities along the Danube River including Prague, Budapest, Nuremberg as well as quaint towns along the Main Danube Canal such as Melk’s splendid Benedictine Abbey and romantic Vienna. “This is a memorable vacation,” said Terri Burke, managing director of Avalon Waterways. “And with Diana Gabaldon as their host, sharing stories and personal insights about Outlander, fans are in for an experience of a lifetime.”
Avalon Waterways’ programs range from mini-breaks to an in-depth 24-day exploration through Europe, Asia and South America.
