Delta Air Lines on Monday celebrated the opening of its newest Sky Club, a 24,000-square-foot lounge at its Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) hub.

The new club is Delta’s eighth Sky Club at Hartsfield-Jackson, a move aimed at easing the overcrowding issues that have recently affected Delta and other airlines. Located in Terminal D, it is the second-largest of the eight clubs and has the most seating, with capacity for 506 guests.

Amenities include a large buffet, two beverage stations, a 16-seat bar, and soundproof phone booths for travelers seeking a quiet space to work. The club’s design is Atlanta-centric, featuring coffered ceilings inspired by Southern architecture and décor, along with artwork from local Atlanta artists.

Claude Roussel, vice president of Delta Sky Club and Lounge Experience, said the addition of an eighth Sky Club underscores the airline’s “unwavering commitment to this city.” Delta is the leading domestic and international carrier at Hartsfield, with nearly 1,000 peak-day departures to 215 destinations.

Delta’s Atlanta service is set to grow further this summer with new nonstop routes to Marrakech, Naples, and Brussels.
