Low-cost carrier Spirit Airlines on Thursday announced its plans to restore all remaining international service.
Spirit will again start flying to destinations including Cancun, Santo Domingo, and Punta Cana immediately, along with Cartagena (Sept. 10), Guatemala City (Sept. 9), Montego Bay (Sept. 9), Port-au-Prince (Nov. 18), San Salvador (Nov. 19), and San Jose (Nov. 17).
Those flights, along with a full return of its domestic network and the addition of more U.S. flights, will give the carrier an additional 20 daily flights and 10 new destinations compared to Spirit’s 2019 network. The schedule is Spirit’s largest-ever schedule out of Orlando.
A lot of that addition for Spirit, which calls itself “Florida’s Hometown Airline,” comes out of Orlando—the carrier’s 2021 schedule will be 45% larger out of MCO compared to two years ago.
That makes Spirit Orlando’s largest international airline and second-largest carrier out of MCO overall.
