InterContinental Hotels Group’s boutique luxury brand Kimpton will open its first property in France this spring.
Located on the Boulevard des Capucines in Paris’ Opéra district, the Kimpton St Honoré Paris will open within the converted Samaritaine de Luxe department store
The building’s 1917 Art Nouveau façade has been restored, along with the “distinctive staircase and unique elevator.”
Hotel interiors will be inspired by 1930’s Art Deco and each of the 149 guest rooms, including 24 suites, will have the feel of a chic Parisian apartment, with balconies, floor-to-ceiling windows and works of art.
A Californian-inspired restaurant and bar designed by Humbert & Poyet is set to combine light, seaside-inspired recipes. On the tenth-floor rooftop, a terrace bar with 360-degree views of the city will welcome guests for cocktails and bites
Rounding out the amenities are an indoor swimming pool, gym and a spa with luxury treatment rooms.
Since acquiring the boutique hotel company in 2015, IHG opened its first hotel outside North America in Amsterdam and has been rapidly expanding. The company also opened the first Kimpton hotel in the Caribbean, Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa in Grand Cayman; and debuted in the UK with a flagship property, Kimpton Fitzroy London.
Recent additions include the Kimpton Aluna Hotel in Mexico and Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel in Glasgow. The brand is also set to make its debut in Bali this year, and more hotels are in the pipeline for Germany, Mexico, Malaysia, China, Hong Kong and the Netherlands in the next two to five years.
