The Government of Barbados announced on Thursday that it would drop all remaining COVID-19-related travel protocols.
The news means that travelers can enter Barbados without having to take a COVID-19 test or prove vaccine status. It also means that face masks will be optional on the island except for those traveling in healthcare facilities or on public transportation.
Cruise passengers, whether unvaccinated or vaccinated, can also get off their ships onto Barbados without a test. Barbados had previously been requiring unvaccinated cruise guests to get tested prior to arriving. Cruise lines with stops scheduled in Barbados over the next few months include Celebrity Cruises, MSC Cruises, Royal Caribbean, Regent Seven Seas, Silversea Cruises, and Holland America.
“This is the last step for us which reflects our position as fully open for business following the COVID-19 pandemic. We look forward to continuing to welcome visitors to our shores to experience all of the new and returning events slated for the rest of the year, and into early 2023,” Minister of Tourism and International Transport, Sen. the Hon. Lisa Cummins said in a statement.
All passengers will have to complete the country’s immigration and customs form 72 hours prior to arrival. That can be found here.
