Set along the sun-kissed shores of Mexico’s Riviera Maya, the dual resort complex of Secrets Moxché Playa del Carmen and Impression by Secrets Moxché (part of the Hyatt Inclusive Collection) offers a superb adults-only, all-inclusive experience. While both properties share a commitment to luxury and exceptional service, each caters to distinct traveler preferences. Here’s what travel advisors need to know.

Secrets Moxché Playa del Carmen: Contemporary Elegance Meets Vibrant Energy

Opened in April 2022, Secrets Moxché Playa del Carmen is a sprawling property designed in a layout of interwoven circles. (I admit, I got lost a couple of times and had to ask staff for directions back to my room.) But that circular pattern takes a massive open space and divides it up into distinct sections, so wherever you go, you have a sense of intimacy and privacy.

Let’s start with the accommodations, which true to the brand, open the door to indulgence. Secrets is all suites, 485 lavishly designed with earth tones, natural elements, and modern aesthetics. They are inviting and sexy. Each suite features a private balcony or terrace, marble bathroom with rainfall showers and accented with warm-hued woods, in-room rolling bar, customizable lighting, and 24-hour room service. Select suites offer swim-out access or a hot tub, further enhancing the romantic and edgy ambiance.

Each floor has a concierge desk during the day to meet guests’ every desire. And the brand’s signature scent of Lê Labo Bergamote 22 (an elegant fragrance of woodsy bergamot blended with floral and citrus elements) wafts throughout the property.

The culinary experiences at Secrets are a highlight of the resort and do not disappoint. The nine gourmet dining options include à la carte restaurants, a buffet, a grill, and a café ─ offering a diverse culinary journey from Pan-Asian to Mediterranean to Mexican cuisines. No reservations are required, allowing for spontaneity.

Culinary tips to share with clients: Try the seven-course taco experience with Tequila/Mezcal tastings at Dos Almas, and be sure to sample the delectable desserts at the crepe cart in the courtyard near the lagoon and boutique shops. Wine and Mezcal lovers will enjoy the Wine Boutique, as well.

Evenings come alive with live entertainment at the theater, or lagoon-side venue, a speakeasy dance club, and a contemporary sports bar featuring a golf simulator and pool table. Once a week, guests satiate themselves in a Silent Disco experience.

During our stay, we were treated to a traditional cacao ceremony on the rooftop terrace under the stars (an experience that can be booked for small groups). Guided by a shaman, the event reconnected participants to Mother Earth through the sacred seed of the cacao (one of the most powerful and revered foods in the region), complete with music, chanting, storytelling, and singing. It was an experience unlike any other – some guests even felt moved to shed a few quiet tears.

The resort features seven pools, including three man-made cenotes, providing unique aquatic experiences. Guests can engage in tennis, pickleball, various water sports, or work out at the state-of-the-art fitness center. The beach has wave breakers installed, making for comfortable and easy swimming or simply floating in the ocean. The sublime Secrets Spa offers hydrotherapy circuits, massage, and beauty treatments.

For travelers wishing to feel especially taken care of, the Preferred Club at Secrets offers enhanced amenities, special concierge service, and access to a rooftop pool and an exclusive lounge.

Secrets Moxché appeals to couples, friends traveling together, or solo travelers seeking a sophisticated, adults-only, all-inclusive atmosphere that is aspirational with ample entertainment, engaging activities, and diverse dining. It is also a luxurious setting that is fitting for destination weddings and honeymoons, or corporate events.

Impression by Secrets Moxché: Elevated Luxury and Personalized Service

Opened in December 2022, Impression by Secrets Moxché is an elevated, adults-only, all-inclusive, luxury experience. Taking everything up a notch (again true to brand), Impression caters to discerning travelers desiring intuitive service, exclusivity, refined amenities, and curated experiences.

Although you can see Impression from the Secrets side of the property, it has its own private entrance through a bamboo-arched walkway and a separate, special-access lobby.

Dressed in harmonious tones of greys and browns accented by off-white touches, stone, marble, and wood, the 198 upscale suites and beachfront villas deliver a modern and lush atmosphere in an intimate setting. Each provides a private terrace, luxurious amenities, and butler service (by text or walk-around service from 7am-11pm). The smallest suite, at nearly 1,000 square feet, is spacious and fully accommodating with a swim-out access and an ocean or tropical view.

We also toured the Two-Story Penthouse Suite Ocean Front, at 2,000 square feet. The floor-to-ceiling windows with spectacular views and the walkaround terrace, among its many other amenities, will satisfy guests expecting the highest levels of exclusivity and tranquility.

The resort also emphasizes personalized service with in-suite dining and a 24-hour concierge to quench every need.

Impression guests can pamper themselves at the Secrets Spa, a sanctuary of relaxation offering hydrotherapy circuits, saunas, steam rooms, and a variety of treatments. Also available are yoga and fitness classes, the beach club and activities, and the resort’s multiple pools.

Impression by Secrets Moxché is tailored to discerning travelers seeking a serene, luxury upscale retreat that expertly delivers elevated personalized services and exclusive amenities in a high-end setting.

Shared Experiences at Nearby Attractions

Both resorts offer access to a range of excursions and attractions, including snorkeling in Cozumel, exploring the ruins of Tulum and Chichén Itzá, taking a round of golf at championship courses, and visiting eco-parks like Xcaret and Xel-Ha. The proximity to Playa del Carmen’s Quinta Avenida also provides opportunities for shopping, dining, and experiencing local culture.

One Property, Two Superb Choices

The dual resort complex of Secrets Moxché Playa del Carmen and Impression by Secrets Moxché presents travel advisors with versatile options to cater to clients’ diverse luxury preferences. Whether seeking engaging activity with aspirational overtones at Secrets or secluded and elevated luxury at Impression, these resorts deliver exceptional travel experiences that are exotic, romantic, and indulgent in the heart of the natural beauty of the Riviera Maya.
