The Walt Disney Co. is adding another theme park, this one on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.
Abu Dhabi will become Disney’s seventh global theme park destination, joining existing resorts in California, Florida, Paris, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Shanghai.. The project is coming through a partnership with Miral, an Abu Dhabi-based entertainment company that has built major attractions in the area, including Ferrari World, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi and Etihad Arena. An opening date has not yet been announced.
The park will be fully developed and built by Miral, with creative and operational support from Walt Disney Imagineers.

Few details about the new park have been released. Disney said it will feature “signature Disney entertainment, themed accommodations, unique dining and retail experiences, and storytelling in a way that celebrates both the heritage of Disney and the futuristic and cultural essence of Abu Dhabi.”
Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro said the park will be “the most advanced and interactive destination in our portfolio” and “will allow us to tell our stories in completely new ways.”
“This project will reach guests in a whole new part of the world, welcoming more families to experience Disney than ever before,” he said. “Ultimately, it will be a celebration of what’s possible when creativity and progress come together.”
