Trump Hotels Confirms Year-Long Data Breach
Seven Trump luxury hotels on Friday acknowledged they were hacked, leaving customers’ debit and credit card information exposed for more than a year. The breach reportedly occurred between May 19, 2014, and June 2, 2105. Affected were two New York properties; the Trump International hotels in Las Vegas, Toronto, Waikiki, and Chicago; and the Trump National Doral. The hotel chain found malware on its computers that suggested hackers had access to account numbers, expiration dates, and security codes. It recommends that customers check their credit and debit statements for unusual activity and is offering a year of complimentary fraud resolution and identity-protection services to all customers who paid with credit or debit cards during the breach period.
