Hilton Confirms Credit Card Breach
Hilton confirmed yesterday a data breach of its payment systems at on-site stores, coffee shops, and restaurants. Information from hotel room charges was not affected. Customers names, card numbers, security codes, and expiration dates were targeted by malware, the company said in a statement, but not addresses and PIN numbers. Hilton’s investigation revealed data was stolen between Nov. 18 and Dec. 14 of last year and Apr. 21 and Jul. 27 of this year.
The statement did not specify which of the company’s brands were affected.
Hilton urged customers to check their statements, and will offer a year of free credit monitoring.
