U.S. and International Airlines Halt Dubai, Mideast Flights Due to Iran-Israel Conflict

Several major U.S. and international airlines on Sunday and Monday were making changes to their flight schedules in light of the growing conflict in the Middle East. While airspace in some areas of the region, including Israel, was closed, many airlines were opting to pause flights to the region’s most popular destinations, including Dubai, due to the conflict.

The changes come as the U.S. State Department issued a “Worldwide Caution” travel advisory for all U.S. citizens traveling outside the U.S. Here are all the changes:

Air Canada has suspended all flights between Toronto Pearson (YYZ) and Dubai (DXB) until at least July 3.

American Airlines will pause its direct connection between Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) and Doha (DOH) until at least June 22. The carrier has issued a travel waiver for all impacted flyers.

British Airways is pausing all flights to Dubai (DXB) and Doha (DOH), including its regular service to Dubai from London Heathrow (LHR). Its last active flight to Dubai from Heathrow on Saturday was forced to divert to Zurich mid-air. British Airways is also pausing all flights to Bahrain.

Delta Air Lines will pause its direct service between New York’s JFK International Airport (JFK) and Ben Gurion International Airport (TLV) in Tel Aviv at least through August. That airport started allowing some outbound flights on Monday with a 50-passenger limit. Since Friday, Delta has been waiving all change and cancellation fees for flights to Israel.

Emirates has suspended all flights to Amman (AMM) and Beirut (BEY) until June 22, and all flights to Tehran (IKA), Baghdad (BGW), and Basra (BSR) until June 30. Emirates is operating as scheduled to all other destinations, including Dubai (DXB).

Singapore Airlines is canceling all of its flights into Dubai (DXB) at least through Tuesday. It will allow all those who are impacted to either rebook, or get a full refund.

United Airlines will pause its daily route between Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and Dubai (DXB) indefinitely.
