EasyJet Teams With eNett for Virtual Card Solution

U.K.-based EasyJet  and eNett International signed an agreement to provide a virtual card solution to travel management companies and corporations in Europe.

Both IATA and non-IATA travel companies will be able to use eNett’s Virtual Account Numbers (VANs) to make secure payments to the low-cost carrier.

MasterCard guarantee
ENett International, a joint venture between Travelport and PSP International, develops integrated payment solutions for the travel industry. MasterCard International is a key enabler of its solutions, providing a single point of connectivity for global payments.

The MasterCard solution guarantees all payments, eNett said, eliminating credit card risk, including card misuse.

How it works
Agents can make bookings on easyJet.com or in Travelport. The eNett Payments Platform will generate a unique VAN for each booking.

The VAN details are automatically updated in the booking and can be produced in a variety of currencies including euros, pounds, U.S. dollars and Scandinavian currencies.

Agents will also receive accounts-payable reconciliation and reporting that is not available through any other means of payment.

They will be able to reconcile payments and invoices in real time using a downloadable tool that is integrated with easyJet.com and available on all major GDSs.

Fees, revenues
All easyJet bookings incur a £9 administration fee (about $17.07).

Bookings made by Visa Credit Card, MasterCard, Diners Club, American Express, Carte Bleue (domestic transactions only) and UATP/Airplus incur an additional fee of 2.5% of the total transaction value, or a minimum charge of £4.95 ($6.50), whichever is greater.

Agents who sign up through the easyJet channel will receive 0.4% revenue on every payment, offsetting the payment fees and providing new revenue when they book Flexi fares, which do not incur payment fees.
