Royal Caribbean’s Third Icon-Class Ship Will be Legend-ary

Royal Caribbean’s next Icon-class ship will be named Legend of the Seas. The third in the series is scheduled to debut in July 2026, with an inaugural season of seven-night Western Mediterranean cruises out of Barcelona, followed by a year-round deployment from Fort Lauderdale on six-night Western Caribbean and eight-night Southern Caribbean cruises.
“On the heels of celebrating one year of the record-breaking Icon Class and the memories made by vacationers of all ages on Icon, we are thrilled to announce the name of Royal Caribbean’s third Icon Class vacation,” said Michael Bayley, president and CEO, Royal Caribbean International. “Legend of the Seasis the next bold step in this exciting era of vacations andthe continuation of the Icon Class legacy…”
Legend of the Seas is currently under construction in Turku, Finland. It will feature popular Edge-class features including the hybrid skywalk/ropes course/thrill ride Crown’s Edge, the Category 6 waterpark, seven pools including the largest at sea, and the family-only Surfside neighborhood.
The original Legend of the Seas, part of the line’s Vision-class of ships, departed the Royal Caribbean fleet in 2017.
