Just one day after Jason Montague officially took the reins at Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises as Norwegian Cruise Lines Holdings’ Chief Luxury Officer, Oceania president Frank A. Del Rio announced he is leaving the company. Regent Seven Seas’ former president Andrea DeMarco announced her departure last month.
The news of Del Rio’s departure was first reported by Seatrade Cruise News.
Frank A. Del Rio is the son of Oceania Cruises’ founder Frank Del Rio and has served as president of the cruise line for the past two years. Over his 14 years with the brand, the younger Del Rio also served as Oceania’s chief sales and marketing officer and vice president of destination services and product development, among other roles.
“Both Frank and his father, our company’s founder, have left an enduring legacy on Oceania Cruises and I want to personally thank Frank for his outstanding stewardship of the brand during his tenure,” Montague wrote in an email to past Oceania cruisers.
Del Rio’s departure will leave Oceania Cruises without a Del Rio family member involved in the company for the first time since its founding in 2003.
