United Airlines is expanding its Pacific network, adding nonstop flights from the U.S. to several major gateways in the region and increasing service from Hong Kong to additional destinations.

Starting Oct. 25, the airline will add a second daily flight from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL). United is currently the only U.S. airline to serve the Philippines directly. It will operate the route on a Boeing 777-300ER.

On Oct. 26, United will launch daily flights from Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) to Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN) on a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

Also on Oct. 26, the airline will begin daily service from Hong Kong to Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK), operating the route on a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

Then, starting Dec. 11, United will introduce its first nonstop flight between San Francisco (SFO) and Australia’s Adelaide Airport (ADL). The airline will operate that route three times weekly on a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

With the additions, United now offers flights from the U.S. to 32 different cities in the Pacific region – four times that of any other U.S. carrier. The Adelaide and the new Manila flights are now on sale, and the rest will go on sale at a “later date,” United said.
