British Airways Makes Life Easier for Those with Peanut Allergies

February 25, 2016

Sufferers of peanut allergies take note: British Airways understands your plight and is trying to help.

Under a new policy, the carrier now asks passengers sitting near those who are allergic to peanuts to avoid eating products containing peanuts during the flight, though it acknowledges it is not enforcing the rule in anyway. It also is encouraging anyone with a peanut allergy to alert a flight attendant so they can share the information with other travelers.

JetBlue and United also alert people seated near someone with a peanut allergy, but some are less accommodating. Last year, a British family couldn’t board an American Airlines flight from Florida because the airline refused to make an announcement asking passengers to avoid eating peanuts.
