Southwest Airline’s passengers were left out in the cold when the airline’s website crashed on Tuesday afternoon.
“We are currently experiencing difficulty with domestic bookings and other website functionality. We are working to restore functionality and apologize for any inconvenience,” the airline wrote on its website.
The site was back up and running by Wednesday morning, but it still was not possible for travelers to check in online or check their flight status on their way to the airport during one of the busiest travel weeks of the year.
Still, Southwest said the outage did not affect its operations nor have any impact on flight delays or cancellations on Tuesday.
It’s the second time in the past six months that Southwest has had computer issues—in July, Southwest was forced to cancel almost 700 flights after a computer issue brought down its website and check-in systems.
