Royal Caribbean will protect the full value of commissions on new bookings made with the redemption of a 2017 Hurricane related Future Cruise Certificate.
Royal Caribbean made the announcement in a letter to its travel agent partners this week, writing that, “you – our valued travel partners continue to remain a top priority.”
Any passenger booking made with the future cruise credit between now and Dec. 31, 2017, with a sail date until Dec. 31, 2018, will automatically be credited to the original travel agent, even if they do the rebooking on their own.
“Your hard work & loyalty is a virtue that cannot be matched and we recognize and thank you for your time in originally securing their cruise vacation,” Royal Caribbean wrote to agents.
Guests on cancelled Caribbean sailings were given refunds and future cruise credits by Royal Caribbean and most other cruise lines.
As part of its efforts to help the Caribbean, Royal Caribbean also announced this week that it is giving complimentary cruises to Fort Lauderdale for its travel partners in Puerto Rico. It also said that it would match donations up to $1 million to aid in hurricane relief efforts.
Earlier this week it also announced that it would no longer sail its Sept. 30 Adventure of the Seas cruise, instead utilizing the ship for humanitarian efforts in San Juan, St. Thomas, and St. Croix.
