Following a multi-million-dollar renovation, Sandals South Coast in Jamaica is ready to debut its new swim-up suite concept this December.
The 20 new swim-up suites will be the first to feature Sandal’s Rondoval design, with zero-entry access to the river-style pool. At 7,040 square feet, Sandals said it’s “the longest pool in the Caribbean and the Western Hemisphere.”
The Rondoval design – first introduced at Sandals Grande Antigua, followed by Sandals Grande St. Lucian, Sandals Grenada and Sandals Royal Barbados – boasts soaring conical ceilings, lavish spa-style bathrooms. Inside, there’s a custom king-size bed and sprawling living area, which includes an HD Smart TV and in-room premium bar.

Other signature amenities will include private plunge pools ornamented with Italian glass-clad fountains and Indonesian limestone, a scalloped Tranquility Soaking Tub for two, and a cozy indoor wicker swing with scenic outdoor views, as well as butler service.
The resort’s Dutch Village – comprised of 16 Butler Elite suites and 96 Club and Luxury Level rooms – has been fully reimagined and will include indoor free-standing tubs and showers, outdoor Tranquility Soaking Tubs for two, and swim-up access from a private pool for select categories. These swim-up rooms and suites feature a modern, open concept plan that flows to a private patio with a zero-entry platform at the very edge of a river pool.
The Dutch Village has been fully reimagined.
The resort will also add a “modern, lush wedding venue” to the property’s Italian Village wing.
“Our goal is to exceed expectations time and time again, and the new Sandals South Coast will do that and more. The resort which is nestled within a lush 500-acre nature preserve, along crystal blue waters was our inspiration for this incredibly expansive project,” Gordon “Butch” Stewart, chairman of Sandals Resorts, said in a statement.
It’s the latest upgrade to the property, following earlier enhancements that added over-the-water bungalows and an overwater wedding chapel.
Sandals South Coast will reopen on Oct. 1, 2020. The new Swim-Up Rondoval Suites and renovated Dutch Village suites are now accepting reservations for arrivals beginning Dec. 10, 2020.
