Andrea Bocelli and Ricky Martin will be headlining the naming ceremony for the MSC Seaside in Miami next week.
The two singers will join the ship’s Godmother, Sophia Loren, on Seaside, which MSC has named the “Ship that Follows the Sun.” It will sail seven-night Caribbean itineraries year-round from the city.
Designed like a Miami beach condo, the ship features a unique ocean-level promenade and spacious terraced balconies, and an interactive Aqua Park with “slide boarding,” a unique water slide and interactive video game all in one. It will also include a number of new dining options, including new eateries created through a partnership with celebrity chef Roy Yamaguchi.
This is MSC’s first ship to be dedicated in North America, a way of “demonstrating our commitment to the region,” the company said, as it rolls out 11 cruise ships between 2017 and 2026.
