Marriott this week is gearing up to open its newest Los Angeles property, a dual-branded Moxy and AC Hotel located in Downtown Los Angeles. The new hotel officially opens tomorrow, April 12.

The new hotel is located in the city’s downtown, directly across from the Crypto.com Arena and the Los Angeles Convention Center. It was developed by Lightstone, which had previously helped launch six of Moxy’s New York hotels. This will be the first Moxy in Los Angeles.

The Moxy side will debut with 380 rooms, while the AC Hotel side will add another 347 guest rooms to the property. Marriott says that the Moxy side will offer “smartly designed rooms” along with spaces for socializing and dining, while the AC Hotel side will offer “the essential elements of an elevated hotel experience at an accessible rate.”

The two hotels will be connected via Level 8, a 30,000-square-foot floor that will house eight different dining and entertainment venues including:

  • Wanderlust, a cocktail lounge.
  • Qué Barbaro, a South American live-fire grill eatery.
  • Golden Hour, a poolside dining and carousel bar.
  • Maison Kasai, a French-Japanese teppanyaki restaurant.
  • Lucky Mizu, a traditional seiro mushi and hot pot restaurant.
  • Sinners y Santos, a cathedral-inspired nightclub with a speakeasy entrance.
  • Mother of Pearl, an alfresco oyster and ceviche bar.
  • Brown Sheep Taqueria, a Mexican restaurant on the property’s terrace.

Both the Moxy and the AC Hotel side will also offer their own distinct dining venues including the La Lo La Rooftop on the AC Hotel side, which will offer Spanish-style tapas paired with views of the Hollywood Hills. There’s also the Bar Moxy and the Bluestone Lane Coffee Shop on the Moxy side.

The hotel will also offer 13,000 sq. ft. of flexible meeting space on its seventh floor that can hold up to 600 people. The meeting space includes a 1960s-era Mad Men-inspired boardroom for smaller events or breakout sessions.

“For today’s traveler, memorable hospitality means great design combined with the ability to choose from an abundance of experiences,” says Mitchell Hochberg, president of real estate developer Lightstone. “By integrating the two hotels, plus Level 8, into a single building, we’re creating a myriad of experiences never before offered in Los Angeles — and keeping it all affordable. It’s a multilayered, endlessly fascinating destination for both locals and visitors.”
